Breath Body Mind in New York State

New York State Office of Mental Health Funding for Breath-Body-Mind

In 2023, The New York State Office of Mental Health made an award to Coordinated Care Services, Inc (CCSI) for the establishment of a Trauma-Informed Network and Resource Center to advance the understanding of trauma, the use of trauma-informed principles, and the availability of trauma-informed care throughout the state.

Through this grant, Coordinated Care Services, Inc. of New York State is working with the Breath-Body-Mind Foundation to provide free Breath-Body-Mind (BBM) programs to all New Yorkers, for stress relief and resilience. It includes funds for online weekly practice sessions, BBM Fundamentals Courses, and BBM Teacher Training for frontline workers. Everyone in New York State is welcome to attend practice sessions being held on Tuesdays at 6am, 12pm and 8pm. For this grant, the Fundamentals Course and BBM Teacher Trainings are focused on frontline workers which is defined broadly, as those who provide care, services, and supports that are critical to the safety, health, and wellbeing of the public. This includes, but is not limited to, staff who work in health care, mental health care, addictions services, congregate and community-based care, education, first responders, transportation, custodial and maintenance, utilities, media and manufacturing.  We want to thank the staff of the New York State Office of Mental Health, Coordinated Care Services Inc., and the Trauma Informed Network and Resource Center who have enthusiastically supported BBM and worked with us to make our BBM programs successful and accessible. They have given Breath-Body-Mind Foundation the opportunity to expand the diversity, equity, and inclusion of people living in the state of New York.
