Iryna Kuleshova
I am a psychologist and a psychotherapist in training. I live in Ternopil, a city where many people who had to leave their homes came. Since the beginning of the war I run free psychological support groups as well as 1:1 counseling sessions. I work with adults. In my practice I use the knowledge received from Dr. Brown, Dr. Gerbarg and the BBM team. People give a great feedback to the coherent breathing practices: these help them deal with the adversities of war, lower anxiety, help adjust to new conditions, increase resilience, improves sleep, renews the energy balance of the body. People’s favorite practices are relaxing exercises and coherent breathing with the sound of waves.
As for myself, I observe that because of these practices I have not experienced professional burnout and can continue working effectively as a psychologist.
I am deeply thankful to Dr. Brown and Dr. Gerbarg, as well as to the BBM team for such important work and significant contribution to the Victory over the aggressor. This is really helpful and valuable for us, Ukrainians. Thank you!
