Dr. Richard Brown leads a beginner round of BBM practices.

Piano Notes
The gentle piano notes go up and down the scale. Breathe in slowly as the notes ascend and breathe out softly as they descend. The track is set to a pace of 5 breath-cycles per minute. Follow the notes as you breathe at this pace, and pay attention to any physical sensations, especially in your chest and lungs.

Two Bells
This track plays at a frequency of 0.085 Hz or 5.1 breaths per minute. Breathing at this rate encourages optimal blood circulation throughout the body, including into and within the brain. These sounds relax the body and yield a meditative state of mind as we go about our daily activities. Breathe in gently on the high tone and breathe out softly on the low tone.

Ocean Waves
Waves were recorded on the beach using multiple microphones and then arranged aesthetically and rhythmically. The dancing sounds of ocean waves breaking on soft sand pacifies the mind and soothes the heart. The lattice of sounds expands, differentiates and deepens throughout the recording. Your imagination opens wide and you are swept up on a healing journey. Breathe in with one wave and breathe out with the next.
